Ask the record office for the current search/copy charge and payment method. The court-filings page also discusses civil index-number fees; those amounts do not establish the fee for a criminal copy request.
Use a statewide service only when that is the required product
OCA Criminal History Record Search
OCA CHRS is a $95 statewide public court-data search based on exact name and birth date. Its results are not certified. A Certificate of Disposition must come from the court of original jurisdiction; the CHRS report is not that certificate.
Your own DCJS history review
DCJS personal record review uses fingerprints and lets you request a suppressed or unsuppressed response; obtaining both requires separate requests. It is for reviewing your own official history, not a public service to obtain another person’s rap sheet.
Choose the output from the receiving organization’s stated requirement. A broader geographic search cannot compensate for ordering the wrong kind of document, and a single local file cannot describe every New York proceeding.
